When I was 16, I went to see The Story of King Prahlad in India. After watching the movie, I read the book that was written after the movie. In the book, there is a boy who was about ten years old when he came back home from school in search of his father who was away in the forest. He saw a fairy in his house and begged her to take her away from there, but she simply stood there pretending to look for something.

He only saw her in the reflection of a mirror. The boy was very scared but he kept on begging her to leave. The fairy's voice gets softer each time he begs her.

Only then the boy realized that the voice he heard was his mother's voice. After this realization, he chased after his mother and caught her before she left his house forever.
